One of E15's most iconic pieces, the Backenzahn stool was designed by Philipp Mainzer in 1996. Carved from oiled oak, the Backenzahn is distinctive for its various surface cracks, which occur during the seasoning of the wood. The result is a wholly unique stool, which, despite the robust material from which it is carved, is extremely comfortable to sit on, thanks to a gently concave seat.
